Entering and Leaving the Site   How will you ensure a safe arrival and exit for children, staff and parents? Number of gates to open or close. How will these be staffed to safeguard very young children? How will this differ from your normal practice?   How will you control the flow to ensure the entrance is not compromised by too many people at the same time, how will you ensue social distancing? Will you:stagger arrival and departure times, how will these be organised and staffed?manage parents on the Maktab site and outside gates?create a one-way system? How will you ensure there is effective communication about these systems, so they are adhered to?       Only one entrance will be opened at a time but staggered drop off and pick up times will ensure a safe arrival and exit for pupils and parents. Moving in and around Maktab   There will be a need to minimise the movement around Maktab for everyone’s safety. Classrooms   There will be a need to ensure as much social distancing as possible. (The answers to these questions will help you to determine how you can roll out increasing numbers in the identified year groups)   Consider: How many children can safely be taught in a classroom space with 2m gap between tables? How many classroom spaces can you safely use given the requirements for moving around corridors and toilet accessibility? How will you organise the classrooms to ensure as little need for movement around the classroom as possible (will this be one way?)How will you facilitate regular cleaning routines for surfaces? How will you facilitate regular hygiene sessions e.g. hand washing?Have you removed all unnecessary items in classrooms, including soft furnishings, soft toys, etc. which are difficult to clean?   Numbers of children What is your initial judgement on a safe number of children to invite back into Maktab?      20 pupils can be safely taught in a classroom area. 6 classrooms can be used with safe distancing.Create a one-way system for walking around in the classroom when it is necessary. The layout of the classroom will be changed and pupils will be given fixed places which they only be allowed to use. After pupils leave, chairs, tables, surfaces will be cleaned by cleaner daily. Door handles, railings and toilets will regularly be cleaned by the cleaner.Hands will be washed/sanitised regularly and upon entry and exit of Maktab and also upon leaving and entering the classroom.                       Numbers of children New admissions will be postponed till October.12+ children will continue with online lessons until October.7-11 pupils will be given 2 days of classes in the Maktab and 3 days online until October.
Toilets   Consider: Will you need additional cleaning time to make these more regular (how regular do they need to be, and will this need reviewing as you gradually increase the number of pupils in Maktab?)How many toilet facilities do you have? How many of these can be safely used?Adequate soap for washing hands. How will you organise use and will this be supervised? How will you ensure used paper towels are disposed of regularly and not left in waste baskets?  Foot operated lidded bins are preferred.      Additional cleaning time will allocated daily after the pupils leave to clean chairs, tables, stationery and surfaces etc.Hand sanitisers will be distributed to each area.Hand washing will be supervised at all times except when exiting the toilet. All bins will be emptied daily.
Vehicles   Are staff avoiding sharing cars with non-family members? Are staff avoiding public transport where possible? Are you minimising the number of people travelling together in any establishment vehicles? Are arrangements in place to clean areas in any establishment vehicles (which are regularly touched) before and after use?  Staff have been asked to minimise contact with non-family members.Staff have been asked to avoid using public transport and if used, to wear masks and gloves.Car sharing is discouraged
First Aid   There will be a need to minimise direct contact with children. How will you minimise direct contact with children?Have you a stock of masks, aprons and gloves when administering first aid?How will used resources be disposed of?What are your arrangements for isolation and collection of a child if they show symptoms whilst in Maktab?        Contact will be minimised through social distancing. PPE will be worn when administrating first aid.Additional masks will be ordered.First Aid resources will be disposed of in the correct bins and emptied daily.Pupils with symptoms will be isolated in the sick room and adults will wear PPE when in contact.
