To maintain the Maktab’s image and reputation, it is vital that education is delivered at a high standard in order to improve the Maktab’s image and education service; the following guidelines must be followed by all teachers, staff and volunteers.
1. You are required to ensure that the well-being of the students according to the Health & Safety and Safeguarding regulations.
2. You are required to come 10 minutes before class starts and make sure that you leave 5 minutes after the class finishes.
3. You are not allowed to enter any classes without the permission of the class teacher or the Maktab management.
4. You are required to communicate with your co-workers during working hours.
5. No socialising during school hours within the boundary of Walthamstow Academy.
6. It is not allowed for you to shout, scream, laugh, hoot, tease and touch students in an inappropriate way.
7. Behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards students and staff, will lead to you facing disciplinary action.
8. You must treat your colleagues and students equally.
9. It is an instant dismissal of employment if you are found to be guilty of Nationalism, Discrimination or Racism.
10. It is an instant dismissal of employment/voluntary agreement, and you may also face prosecution if you are found guilty of hitting or sexually abusing a student.
11. It will not be tolerated for staff to create political confrontations and divisions amongst their co-workers.
12. Do not use the computer and YouTube for any lectures or Bayaan’s (lecture) without informing the headteacher, or which is related or not related to the lesson.
13. Not to implement any teaching methods before consulting with the headteacher.
14. If you are inquired either by call, email, or text message in relation to a Maktab enquiry, you are required to reply to that enquiry as soon as possible.
15. You are required to attend the monthly staff meetings.
16. It is against employer policy to charge your phone or bring out your mobile phone in the classroom.
